Hello. I installed Windows Vista build 5308 without problems, except it takes an hour. Just at the end of install, I think, a screen shows up containig :
"You are ready to start" text with a "Start" button near right-down of window
The problem is : the Start button does not react when clicked !!! So I can not start Windows Vista.
What to do now ?
Thank you jmd

5308 installation problem : start button not responding
You should see a Finish or Close button at that sequence, the Start Logo is just an image, I agree though, its misleading. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "jmd.msdn" wrote in message

Very true - but although the actual OS user interface is set in stone (just needs a polish as they said), we noticed a lot of change in terms of "out of OS" features such as the setup and the login window from 5270 to 5308 - so they may well change this in due course.

Thank you very much, André and Zack. After many minutes, suddenly, a logon screen (with switch user) appears. But now Vista refuses my password.

Hold on... Vista testers (TAP or otherwise) don't have access to anything but Ultimate Edition. Where are you getting your builds from? :-o
By the way, I'm on the TAP.

I know what it is now!! Wendy sent us on the Office 2007 TAP beta, and just simply transferred us to Vista... that's where the confusion is - we're definately TAP on Office 2007 (and yes I'm sure because the original email says "Welcome to the Microsoft Office "12" TAP Beta Program" in the subject and all the signs on the BetaPlace bit point to it.
Jeez, I always get muddled up with something or other - mixing two or more different shreds of memory together... I need a holiday... has monsoon season passed where you are Andre? I might hop over for a week or two ;o)

Wrong again Zack, even I had access to TAP Office 12, doesn't mean you are in, you are in the Office 12 Technical BETA Program, even I got an entrance from Wendy to Office 12 but I didn't need it. You cannot file bugs under TAP unless you are a large company or your reports will be invalidated.
